Recommendations
A trip to Florence is a journey through the heart of the Renaissance. Here's my curated list of must-see experiences:
Museums
- Uffizi Gallery - Home to Botticelli's Venus and da Vinci's masterpieces. Pro tip: Visit on the FIRST SUNDAY of the month for FREE admission!
- Accademia Gallery - See the iconic Plaster Ladies and Michelangelo's stunning David
Outdoor & Palaces
- Boboli Gardens - Beautiful Renaissance gardens behind Palazzo Pitti
- Palazzo Pitti - Grand palace with riverside views, featuring the Palatine Gallery, Royal Apartments, and the Museum of Costumes and Fashion
- Palazzo Vecchio - Stunning grand ballrooms with a climb to the top of the clock tower for the best viewpoint in Florence
Where to Stay
Leone Blu Suites - Incredibly curated unique rooms with handpainted frescoes and a perfect central location right on the Arno River.
Best Walks
- Sunrise Walk - Take a morning stroll along the Arno River to catch the sunrise over Ponte Vecchio and near the Uffizi Gallery - magical and less crowded!
- Sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo - Walk to see a bronze replica of Michelangelo's David with stunning city views at sunset. My tip: Take the stairs off Via del Monte Alle Croci that pass through the Giardino delle Rose - it's a much easier climb (through a stunning garden!) than the main path on Viale Giuseppe Poggi.
